Interested in the review process and the notice to amend? This workshop will be facilitated by the team who reviewed and updated the constitution in preparation for this Assembly amendment. Dig into the details with Dave Wiebe, Marvin Dyck, Kelsey Friesen and Cam Priebe.

During the Provincial Faith and Life workshop, you’ll hear from the members of the PFLT and representatives from NFLT. We are in a season of increased collaboration between national and provincial bodies. Our workshop will work to inform you of recent developments and thinking that the NFLT/PFLT have been engaging. Including, but not limited to, topics of LGBTQ+ care, vaccination and government restrictions, code of ethics for churches and pastors. You’ll have an opportunity to engage in some dialogue.

Becoming Wholehearted in Service to God through Contemplative Practices: A Look at Spiritual Direction

The calling of pastors, elders, and ministry leaders carries a weight of responsibility as we tend to the souls of people who are on a journey of searching for connection, love, healing, and faith.  Becoming busy and caught up in the good work of shepherding others can lead us to forget that we ourselves are on a journey, a quest for wholeness, which often ends up looking like taking on even more responsibility, instead of tending to our souls. Spiritual direction, among other contemplative practices, provides a pathway to soul care through opening up ourselves to closer union with God and viewing our souls through His loving lens.

Led by Terry Dueck, Pastor at WMB, and Andrea Toews, Pastor at ECC and Spiritual Director.

Beyond the Sunday Gathering: Surviving the rest of Church

The pandemic has greatly impacted all of our ministries, causing us to get creative and find ways to continue wherever possible. Sometimes, though, there wasn’t much to do. Join this panel of youth, family, childrens & community pastors & leaders to discuss what it has been like to navigate the changes & challenges of the last two years and what it looks like moving forward.

Panelists: Robbie Friesen, Youth Pastor @ La Salle, Aggie Buhler, Children’s Ministry Coordinator @ Richmond Park, Leah Dyck, Children’s Ministry Coordinator @ Fourth Ave, Kelby Friesen, Pastor of Community Life @ Steinbach MB. Facilitated by Matt Braun, Multiply.

The leadership boards and councils of our churches are essential components for the ministry that we do. This workshop will make space for discussion and dialogue led by a few of our church moderators who will be sharing best practices, resources, tips, and ways that God is at work in their midst. Great for board/council members, leaders, and people who might be interested in discovering more about effective leadership in a church board setting.
