It is with great sadness that we recognize the passing of our friend Robert (Bert) Bell who recently served as pastor of congregational care at Portage Avenue Church, Winnipeg (2013–2016). He also worked as stewardship representative for the Canadian Conference of MB Churches (CCMBC) 2004–2013.
Bert was a man of the Word who always had a Bible open on his desk. He used Scripture to affirm and encourage those around him. Bert considered himself a charismatic at heart, as evidenced through his vibrant and expressive love for the Lord. Bert was invested in the care and well being of the elderly, and discipled many young adults.
Bert deeply loved Sandy, his wife of nearly 50 years; they cherished time as a family together, and celebrated many milestones with their children and grandchildren over the years.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and colleagues at MBCM, CCMBCand Portage Avenue Church.
