Dan Hotchkiss Workshop

November 7 & 8, 2014

You are invited to participate in a Leaders2Learners Workshop: “Leadership Structures for the Church in Mission” with Dan Hotchkiss, senior consultant with the Alban Institute and author of “Governance and Ministry:  Rethinking Board Governance”, 2009.

Dan is a leading authority in North America on how churches can best organize themselves for effective ministry.  This workshop is offered to all Anabaptist related churches through a partnership between CMU, MB Church of Manitoba and Mennonite Church Manitoba.  Registration details will be sent to all denominational leaders.

Some of Dan Hotchkiss’ thoughts on Church Governance are:

  • Christ and his mission are the main ‘shareholders’ to whom church boards/pastors carry fiduciary responsibility.
  • Church Board and Pastor (s) work together in a unique leadership partnership.
  • Church leadership structures need to be re-envisioned in an age of skepticism, cynicism and leader-worship.

The November 7-8, 2014 workshop on church governance will be designed for participants from Evangelical/Anabaptist related faith communities.  From Dan’s vast consulting experience, he will teach and lead a discussion based on the church leadership issues that we are facing.  This is where we need your help.

In the following short survey, we would like you to identify the church leadership/governance issues that you are facing within your context.  Your responses will help shape Dan’s focus.  The survey should take only 15 minutes depending on the length of your answers.
